Vivienne Tam Presents SS16 Collection at The Arc on September 14.
Tam’s collection was a unique juxtaposition of androgynous elements of the 1920’s and today’s street style. The androgynous elements were seen in the ruffles of men’s shirts, sheer tops for men, and grey pinstripe jumpsuits for women. Tam played with patterns and stripes by strategically pairing the two together in similar colors. The silhouette was kept loose with dropped waists and loose boxey fits. The key pieces of the collection included bomber jackets, ribbed and textured knits, and oversized tops. The bomber jackets were done in a variety of designs like vertical black and white stripes with black and white rose appliqué and a mesh jacket with a red and white stripe collar. The collection was primarily in black, white, and an army green.
