Chococo and Bubbice have partnered to bring chocolate, ice cream, and fresh fruit combinations to New York City.
The chocolate you will have from Chococo is not your average sweet, and the flavor proves it. Andy and Claire Burnet founded the company in December 2002 in Dorset, United Kingdom. Chococo keeps its creations close to home. The company makes its products by combining seasonal ingredients from local sources with single-origin chocolate. Also, Chococo says it does not use any additives or preservatives.
Meanwhile, Bubbice has been putting its own spin on how we experience ice cream. Founded in the UK as well, the brand attributes its inspiration to time in Southeast Asia. In Thailand, street markets are known for quickly crafting ice cream while you watch. At its core is a philosophy: the use of simple ingredients. With this and a form of alchemy, Bubbice creates something more than just ice cream. And that art of creation is happening once again in New York City.

“When we were first introduced to Chococo, the connection felt very natural. Both Chococo and Bubbice originated in the United Kingdom, and we share the same focus on quality ingredients, creativity and turning something familiar into a more memorable experience. Bringing Chococo’s chocolate together with our live, flash-frozen ice cream process felt like such a fun collaboration, and it was incredible to see the response in New York this weekend,” Rob Huysinga, founder of Bubbice, said in a statement. Huysinga believes in creativity and community. This system of belief falls in line with that of Chococo.
“We focus on seeing origin and traceability inside our chocolate process,” said Jeferino Wright-Tomas, the general manager for Chococo in New York City. Knowing source communities and ensuring fair practices is key to the Chococo business model, Wright-Tomas noted.

For the events on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, the first 100 guests got to try the new Chococo x Bubbice collaboration for free. As a bonus, of that 100, the first few guests got a goodie bag to take home filled with treats. While there, we had a chance to try some samples of Chococo’s Molasses and Brown Butter Caramels. With a perfect shell and buttery center, it was just what we needed while we waited our turn for our custom creation. For that creation we did Bubbice’s signature vanilla cream paired with fresh strawberries and Chococo’s Blonde Chocolate drops. It was perfect for a sunny fall day. The fresh strawberries with the vanilla cream gave a creamy, fruity flavor. Additionally, the chocolate drops gave a little more sweetness to the ice cream and fruit.
Guests continued to enjoy their creations throughout the afternoon and jammed along to the curated playlist. The Upper East Side location was also decked out for autumn, just in time for spooky season. We get the feeling there will be more to come in the months ahead, and we cannot wait to see it.
