The menu was a deal well worth checking out

New York City Restaurant Week can sometimes be very overwhelming especially with how many options there are.

But a table at Four Twenty Five by Jean Georges delivered an incredibly delicious Restaurant Week menu. Located on Park Avenue, the restaurant pairs grand architecture with a sleek dining room that evokes a sense of refinement. We recently stopped by to check out their three-course prix-fixe menu that was heavily inspired by seasonal produce without cutting any corners on technique.

For our starters we opted for the Summer Squash and Arugula Salad and the Sweet Corn Soup. The Summer Squash and Arugula Salad brought a peppery, clean bite tossed with tender shaved squash, sharp grated parmesan, and fresh basil. Alongside it, the Sweet Corn Soup was an absolute highlight of the first course. Light and naturally sweet with a subtle touch of balancing acidity, it had just enough body to feel satisfying while waking up the appetite for everything to follow.

For the mains, we opted for the Hake and the Ravioli dishes.  The handmade Ravioli arrived tender and well-constructed, offering a rich, comforting pasta course that let its fresh summer accents shine. On the seafood side, the Hake was cooked with total precision. Light, moist, and effortlessly flaky, the fillet rested over a vibrant herb puree nestled underneath, delivering a burst of freshness, proper seasoning, and a hint of richness that rounded out each bite.

Dessert kept the momentum going right through the final course. The Panna Cotta was smooth and decadent, carrying a distinct burst of fresh vanilla flavor that paired naturally with ripe, sweet summer peaches. The other dessert we opted for was the Corn Cake.  This dish took seasonal ingredients like corn and black berries and elevated it.  The corn was featured in so many ways such as the layering of the warm griddled corn cake with creamy corn pudding that paired so well with the macerated black fruits and a scoop of sweet corn ice cream.  It was a corn explosion that showcased the nuanced flavors of corn with each preparation.

Between the polished Midtown room, attentive service, and a kitchen operating at peak summer form, Four Twenty Five delivers one of the most rewarding Restaurant Week meals in town. If you are looking for an excuse to book a table on Park Avenue without fine-dining stiffness, this menu was well worth the stop.
