Academy Award-winning actor and filmmaker Sean Penn participated in a Tribeca Talks conversation with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on June 6.
The highly-anticipated panel at Tribeca Festival gathered a sold out crowd at Spring Studios to hear Penn talk candidly with the anchor of The Source with Kaitlan Collins.
Collin known for chasing the facts, asked Penn questions on everything from his political ambitions to what makes him attracted to film projects. Opening up about a much talked about miss of the Oscars ceremony this past year where he was named Best Supporting Actor, he reveled that he feels gatherings of the nature are ” anxiety and dread-inducing.”
Penn claimed that “everybody understood” from the One Battle After Another team why he chose to skip the special event where the film also took home Best Picture.
Following up, the actor also stated that he did schedule a now famous trip to meet with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the Oscars so not to have to be personally conflicted about being in a space where he was destined to not to feel comfortable.
Before the date, Penn had already been the winner of two coveted Oscars for his performances in Mystic River and Milk.
