The Suite Spot’s ‘Her Suite Escape’ Spotlights Film ‘Always Enough’ and the Power of Women’s Wellness

Regina Oliver and Vanessa Simmons share insights on mindfulness, self-worth, and the journey to healing at the exclusive Her Suite Escape event.

There’s no better way to end Black History Month and transition into Women’s History Month than by celebrating mindfulness and wellness with trailblazers and go-getters.

The Suite Spot, an elevated and immersive experience that brings together industry power players, showcased just that with its event, Her Suite Escape, during NAACP Image Awards Weekend on February 27, 2026. The exclusive gathering shed light on how multifaceted women can preserve their mental health through activities such as pilates, intimate chats, and a wellness panel featuring Regina Oliver, creator of the film Always Enough, and producer Vanessa Simmons.

With its sneak peek, Always Enough gives audiences insight into the symbolism of reclaiming oneself as a woman experiencing mental adversity. Guests were able to understand how these visuals reflect the main character internally, alongside external pressures from the public, Oliver noted.

The filmmaker explained, “As we begin to navigate life, we come to a point where it’s like, ‘okay, I deserve peace.’” The film depicts the reclamation of self-worth by exposing the non-linear patterns of healing and what it means for women to stay grounded, “pour into others, and to come from a place where you’re able to show up as your best self,” said Oliver.

Producer and entrepreneur, Vanessa Simmons shared her perspective on the importance of balance and self-preservation, noting that Always Enough serves as an affirming inspiration for women to be introspective by reflecting on avoided affliction and areas where one may need healing.

Simmons told The Knockturnal about her experience working on the film, explaining, “I came on board Always Enough when it was in post-production, so they had already filmed it. Immediately, as soon as I saw the film, I was like, wow, I relate to this.” She discussed during the panel how she once placed her worth on her accomplishments as a career woman and how others perceived her. However, Simmons countered this with reflection, stating, “That’s not really what your worth is connected to. Your worth is connected to who you are and because God said so.”

The multi-hyphenate mogul also extends her mindfulness practices to other endeavors, including her wellness platform U4IA, where she inspires others to heal in similar ways. In the midst of challenges and staying centered as a businesswoman, Simmons believes that the key is “gratitude and being intentional about your life every single day.”

Along with this practice, Oliver’s advice for successful women who struggle to prioritize their mental health is to reflect and pay attention to their bodies. She explained, “It’s always going to tell you if you’re good to go. A lot of us override what we’re feeling in our bodies, and that leads us to burnout or even mistakes that send us down paths we could’ve avoided.”

Reflecting on her journey, the renaissance woman shared how prioritizing her own wellness has changed the way she tells stories and shows up creatively, telling The Knockturnal, “[I’ve become] more aware of myself and honest with myself, [and] honest with others… I’m able to be more vulnerable in my stories and come from a truthful place, as opposed to pushing through it.”

Oliver continued, “I think people recognize when you’re coming from an authentic place, and it helps others see themselves. It was [also] a moment for me to heal.”

The filmmaker also recalled experiencing emotional moments throughout the creation of the film, where she hadn’t realized there were areas in which she needed to prioritize her mental space more. She acknowledged the challenge in doing so, saying, “I thought I did the work, but it showed up, and I was afraid of it. I suppressed it during the scenes because I still had to go into producer mode.”

With ongoing conversations surrounding high-performing women’s mental health, Oliver feels that Always Enough is a project that can transcend those discussions. She looks forward to continuing to create projects that thoughtfully highlight purpose.

Ultimately, Always Enough serves as a reminder that prioritizing inner peace is not only essential for personal healing but also a powerful foundation for showing up fully in every aspect of life.
