On Thursday, November 6th, The Knockturnal had the pleasure of joining Hornitos Tequila for a special celebration of 75 years of bold flavor and tradition at Aliya Cocktail Den in Brooklyn, New York. The evening celebrated tequila excellence and brought to life Hornitos’ mission of community, craftsmanship, and connection.
Surrounded by laughter, engaging conversation, and stunning views, attendees gathered to toast the brand’s newest premium expressions, Hornitos Cristalino Reserve and Hornitos Añejo Reserve. You could feel the collective excitement as everyone leaned in to experience what 75 years of tequila mastery tastes like.
Guided tastings and handcrafted cocktails were paired with authentic tacos from Mexico City’s Michelin-starred Taquería El Califa de León. The pairing highlighted that great flavor doesn’t need to be complicated. Just like Hornitos’ approach, it is all about keeping things approachable, joyful, and effortlessly special.
As the tasting began, everyone was introduced to two distinct yet equally impressive expressions. The Cristalino Reserve captivated with its crystal-clear body and smooth, layered flavor. Crafted from 100 percent Blue Weber agave and delicately rested with whole vanilla beans from Veracruz, Mexico, it carried a subtle sweetness and silky finish that made it an instant favorite. The Añejo Reserve offered a richer, more complex experience, a tequila that could easily rival a fine whiskey. Aged through a unique triple-barreling process, it revealed notes of smoky vanilla and buttery caramel that lingered beautifully on the palate.
At $44.99, both tequilas deliver a luxurious experience without the luxury price tag, staying true to Hornitos’ mission to make high-quality tequila accessible for everyone.
