An immersive escape into the Netherfield Ballroom
Last week, a celebration of literary history came to life as Audible and NowThis co-hosted a lavish event at the ornate Oscar Wilde NYC, marking what would have been Jane Austen’s 250th birthday. The theme of the evening paid dazzling tribute to her most beloved novel, Pride and Prejudice.
Guests were immediately transported to a Regency-era ballroom, with the entire space curated to create an immersive experience centered around new audio adaptations of the classic story. Audible, as a key partner, designed exclusive themed areas for deep engagement:
- The Drawing Room offered an intimate setting where guests could relax and dive into a rich, immersive audio production of Pride and Prejudice.
- A bespoke live calligraphy station provided a touch of luxury, where attendees received a personalized, luxe Audible x Pride and Prejudice journal complete with monogramming.
Throughout the evening, themed cocktails—inspired by the world of Austen—were served, adding a festive, sophisticated note to the celebration. The entire event successfully merged historical elegance with modern, immersive storytelling to honor the enduring legacy of Jane Austen.
