The 2024 WWD Honors celebrated fashion designers and brand leaders who are leaving their unique mark in the industry.
The talented designers and brand leaders who were honored, and given their symbolic flowers for their remarkable work included, Brunello Cucinelli, Tory Burch, Todd Snyder, Naiomi Glasses, and Fran Horowitz.
Cucinelli received the highest recognition, which was the John B. Fairchild Honor, and Ryan Seacrest went on to introduce him during the ceremony. While interviewing Cucinelli, his passion and enthusiasm for his craft was energetically palpable. I was very inspired by his motivational responses that offered special gems, full of spiritual life lessons for all viewers, especially aspiring fashion designers. It was also beautiful to see previous honorees such as Tommy Hilfiger in attendance, ready to show his support for the next generation and it represented a passing of the torch.
One of my favorite moments while covering the red carpet was witnessing Cucinelli and Hilfiger engaging in an animated conversation, which charmingly included Hilfiger showing off his blazer, while providing a fit rundown. Actors such as Danai Gurira arrived fully dressed in Tory Burch, as a beautiful walking representation of the designer’s talent. It always wonderful to witness professionals across industries being celebrated, seen, appreciated and warmly embraced, and the moment presented a full circle moment for them.
