An Instant Horror Classic

The Los Angeles premiere screening event for “The Seeding” was nothing short of electrifying.

As I pulled up to the iconic Vidiots venue nestled in the heart of Hollywood,  the energy surrounding the event was palpable, setting the tone for an unforgettable night of cinematic brilliance. Vidiots, a unique video and theatre space, provided the perfect backdrop for an elevated horror film that stands proudly among the likes of masterpieces by directors Ari Aster and Jordan Peele.

“The Seeding” eagerly took advantage of the openness of the modern horror genre, oscillating effortlessly between spine-chilling moments and thought-provoking social commentary and carving a lane wholly of its own.  The film’s ability to strike a delicate balance between fear and insight was truly commendable, making it a standout in the realm of contemporary horror.  Bolstered by raw and poignant performances by Scott Haze and Kate Lyn Shiel, the audience was held captive by the film’s thought provoking story. and evocative visuals.

The mood of “The Seeding” was note-perfect, creating an immersive experience that lingered long after the credits rolled. The deliberate craftsmanship of the film echoed the brilliance of its cinematic ancestors, drawing parallels with the works of Ari Aster and Jordan Peele. This film was a celebration of horror as an art form, leaving an indelible mark on the audience and solidifying both “The Seeding” and writer/director Barnaby Clay as a must-watch in the genre’s pantheon.
