Jeffrey Sharp, esteemed film producer and Executive Director of The Gotham, and and Kia Brooks, Deputy Director of The Gotham has just unveiled the eagerly-anticipated nominations for the 33rd Annual Gotham Awards, via livestream from Cipriani Wall Street.

The Gotham Film & Media Institute is an organization that values the prosperity of independent storytelling by providing resources to creators for their career development, and supports their art by helping them reach broader audiences. Since September 1991, The Gotham Awards has celebrated trailblazing directors, producers, writers, and actors who have broken down boundaries through their work.

Maestro (Netflix), Air (Amazon MGM Studios), and Rustin (Netflix) will be tributed during the ceremony, and additional honorees are expected to be announced by The Gotham within the upcoming weeks. Throughout the commemoration, 20 feature films, 11 series, and 30 performances will be presented in ten award categories. Amongst the nominees are fan-favorite movies and shows, including Celine Song’s Past Lives and Lee Sung Jin’s Netflix show, Beef. Ryan Gosling has also been nominated for Outstanding Supportive Performance in Barbie, and his Notebook co-star, Rachel McAdams, is nominated in the same category for Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.

The recipients of each category have been selected by numerous industry professionals, including filmmakers, journalists, critics, and more. The winners will be accepting their awards live and in person at Cipriani Wall Street, on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 7 PM.
