The tearoom and pastry house Angelina Paris opened its newest location. The new boutique is located on Lexington Avenue in New York City. The brand has twenty-six other stores around the world. For 120 years, Angelina Paris has featured gourmet food in idyllic tearooms.
In 1903, Austrian confectioner Antoine Rumpelmayer founded Angelina. He named the restaurant after his daughter-in-law. He sought to make his brand reflect French luxury. His vision attracted Parisian celebrities, such as Marcel Proust and Coco Chanel. New York Cityβs newest restaurant welcomed special guests from France.
Consul General of France JΓ©rΓ©mie Robert led the ribbon cutting. Pastry Chef Christophe Appert, Chief Executive Officer Isabelle De Bardies, and Chief Financial Officer MickaΓ«l Cova accompanied him. Chief Operating Officer Anthony Battaglia and U.S. Co-founder Priscilla Bonnet Lafarge attended as well. The store sells its exquisite Mont-Blanc pastry and hot chocolate.
The pastry combines slightly-sweetened whipped cream, French chestnut paste vermicelli, and a crunch meringue shell. The hot beverage features three cocoas from Ghana, Niger, and the Ivory Coast. The Angelina drink has exceptional taste and balance. Customers can take home the item in a bottle or powder box. The store gave out free samples.
Waiters passed out mini pastries on silver trays. Their signature mini Mont-Blanc treats delighted customers. Small tarte au citrons enticed attendees. The sample featured candid lemon and smooth lemon cream. The expertly-balanced sour and sweet flavors impressed guests.
Customers can also buy delectable macaroons, biscuits, and chestnut creams. Delicious caramels, jams, and teas are also available at the new store. βThere is a strong appetite in New York City for the romantic,β said Chief Operating Officer of Angelina Paris & New York Anthony Battaglia.
