In the latest installment of the iconic Scream trilogy, New York City is ready to do just that: SCREAM.
When we pick up, the four survivors of the latest in Ghostface’s killings decide to leave Woodsboro behind. Tara and Sam Carpenter (Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera) are on their way to start a new life in New York City. While New York might be the perfect place to hide in plain sight, nothing gets past Ghostface, and the girls, along with twins Chad and Mindy Meeks (Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown), are thrown into a whirlwind of an all-new killer behind the mask. The latest film is bigger and better than ever, and with the city as the killer’s playground, anything can happen.
Alongside Ortega, Barrera, Gooding and Savoy Brown, the film stars Hayden Panettiere (Kirby Reed) and Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers) reviving their roles, and Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving, all originating brand new characters.
With Ghostface and the rest of the gang taking over New York City, it only made sense for the cast to take over as well! Throughout the city, photo op’s have been popping up, including an interactive subway display at Lincoln Square that features Ghostface in the shadows right behind. This Saturday, star Jenna Ortega will be doing one of the highest New York honors: hosting the iconic Saturday Night Live.
Yesterday, prior to the world premiere taking place at Manhattan’s AMC Lincoln Square, the cast was 102 floors up all the way at the top of The Empire State building! In attendance were Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jack Champion, Mason Gooding, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolri and Josh Segarra. It was a sea of Ghostface masks and posters all the way up as adoring fans greeted the stars with the iconic view of the city all around them.

The excitement for the location of the film was not lost on fans, or the cast. Josh Segarra joked that he would be very upset if Ghostface interrupted him while he was “just tying to enjoy (his) bacon egg and cheese.” Though the subject matter of the film may be gruesome, the fan love is anything but, and the energy on the observation deck only confirmed that fact further.
