Less than 12 hours before the release of her highly anticipated sophomore album Romance, Camila Cabello found some time between her busy press runs to head to NYC’s meatpacking district visit a group of lucky fans at a special pop-up shop inspired by the album.
Camila has had quite an eventful year. It started off with not one, but two nominations at the 2018 Grammys where she performed her #1 Billboard Hot 100 hit “Havana” with rapper Young Thug.
Since then, the singer/songwriter has received many awards for her chart-climbing singles that continue to dominate in streams.
Now, she’s nominated for yet another Grammy and this time it’s for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her single “Señorita” featuring Shawn Mendes. The steamy Latin bop with even hotter lyrics has officially surpassed 1 billion streams and is now the most liked video of 2019 on YouTube.
On Thursday, her label Epic Records partnered up with streaming platform Amazon Music to curate an immersive wonderland experience dedicated to the pop songstress’s new project.
Fans feasted on candy canes and hot chocolate while purchasing exclusive Romance merch and posing for insta-worthy photos in front of props reminiscent of something out of a fairytale.
The entire setup was pretty magical to say the least, and the day only got better once Camila showed up.
Fans were able to engage in a Q&A session hosted by Hip Hop Journalist and Genius exec Rob Markman, as well as an early sneak peek of a few songs from the 14-track album.
Romance has inspired 50 art exhibits across the country entitled “Album Art Living Museums”. Fans can visit and unlock hidden messages that reveal the meaning behind each song on the album. To find out more, visit www.romanceunlocked.com.
