Last Monday, The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF) and the Bob Woodruff Foundation presented the 13th Annual Stand Up For Heroes (SUFH) event to honor the nation’s impacted veterans and their families.
Sheryl Crow, Hasan Minhaj, and many others took to the stage at Stand Up for Heroes for an evening of comedy and music to raise funds and awareness in support of the Bob Woodruff Foundation at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden.
The Bob Woodruff Foundation was founded by Bob Woodruff after he sustained traumatic injuries whilst on tour in Iraq. He decided to make his mission to “ensure that our nation’s impacted veterans, service members, and their families have access to the highest level of support and resources they deserve, for as long as they need it,” as stated on their website.
For the past twelve years, Stand Up For Heroes has kicked-off the country’s largest comedy festival with a unique evening of comedy and music to recognize, honor, and raise funds in support of the Bob Woodruff Foundation.
The event raised over $5.7 million to support veterans and their families through the Bob Woodruff Foundation.
SUFH kicked off the New York Comedy Festival, which ran from November 4 through November 10, taking place at New York’s most prestigious venues and featuring performances from over 200 comedians in more than 100 shows across the city.
