Last Friday, Kasboย filled up NYCโs Bowery Ballroom with fans who were dying to witness his revered live set.
Swedish producer Carl Garsb – alias Kasbo – stopped by NYC to play two consecutive shows while on the second half of his Places We Donโt Know Tour. He kicked off the celebration with a stunning show at Brooklynโs Music Hall of Williamsburg on Thursday and wrapped things up with an impressive sold-out show at Bowery Ballroom. Vancouver Sleep Clinic lended his emotional vocals and captivating electronica beats for the second show. As the night began to creep in, the dance-floor gradually disappeared as fans poured into the ballroom to immerse themselves in the magic of Kasboโs live show.
A uniquely curated set, the show primarily revolved around his most recent album โPlaces We Donโt Knowโ out via ODESZAโs highly lauded label, โForeign Family Collectiveโ. PWDW is comprised of endorphin-flooding melodies and buoyant house beats that aim to mirror the bliss of the worldโs unknown. Having amassed over forty million collective streams thus far, the LP proved to resonate with fans who have been awaiting to experience the work of art in real life. Utilizing a completely live set up including drums and guitar, the โPlaces We Donโt Knowโ tour sees Kasbo unveil new music, new visuals and a completely revamped production.
โThe tour has been amazing so far. I worked on the live show and visuals for months and so happy for everyone to finally experience it,โ stated Kasbo.
The hard work Kasbo and his team have invested in the project was clearly conveyed once he took the stage. Delivering an emotional and passionate performance to an overwhelmed, energetic crowd was awe-inspiring to witness. A particular standout from his set included a vibrant live rendition of โPlaces We Donโt Knowโ, during which Kasbo took control as his hands skillfully ran along the beat-pad. Slowing things down with, โAldring Merโ fans respond to the song choice in utter ecstasy as the air became saturated with hands lifted high across the room.
Putting his foot on the gas pedal, Kasbo then went full-throttle with album standout โOver Youโ. Kasbo never ceased to show fans every bit of emotion as he stood bowing at the crowd with his hands in prayer position while singing along with his fans. The crowd reciprocated his impassioned energy and the genuine aura of the room was as uplifting as ever.
Along with a variety of album favorites, Kasbo also gave his fans a taste of their favorite remixes including one of his most popular renditions of โHappierโ by Ed Sheeran. While performing a personal all-time favorite, his rework of โThe Little Thingsโ by Big Gigantic, vivid nature visuals splashed across the screen and lit up the faces of the crowd in awe.
Once the show concluded, fans relentlessly begged for an encore until Kasbo graced the stage for a final song. Giving fans everything he has left, he performed โBara Duโ which he paired with a touching live guitar performance. The magic in the room was undeniable from beginning to end, and the success of โPlaces We Donโt Knowโ undoubtedly translated to an enchanted, heartfelt and compassionate performance by Foreign Family Collective artist, Kasbo.
