Jussie Smollett releases his highly anticipated debut album, “Sum Of My Music,” while marking his debut as an independent artist and executive producer.

With a mix of pop, hip-hop, and r&b Jussie crafted a body of work that truly reflects everything that he stands for as an artist. It is clear from the lyrics and the emotion of every vocal that this is an album intended to move an audience. Sum Of My Music is Jussie’s hearts’ authentic expression through song.

Jussie Smollett’s album release party was hosted at The Sayers Club in Los Angeles. It was the perfect venue for such an intimate album. Before hitting the stage the star-studded audience (which included Taye Diggs, Halle Berry, Michelle Williams, Sevyn Streeter and Gabourey Sidibe) mingled, took pictures, and listening to today’s top tracks and after much anticipation Jussie took to the stage speaking first of the inspiration behind the album (most of which is inspired by his real life), thanking everyone was apart of the project, including all of his friends, family, and fans. Setting the tone Jussie played the audience his entire ten track album from start to finish, and because he wanted to ensure we understood the music, there were lyric books passed out to everyone. He wanted each song to be felt, understood, and resonated with.

After listening to the album, Jussie returned to the stage and gave an amazing performance of his hit singles “Hurt People,” “Haha (I Love you),” and “Freedom.” With each song, the audience was able to vibe with Jussie and feel the love he put into making the music.

Sum Of My Music is out now, available on all music outlets.
