This year two familiar names led the 72nd Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards nomination charts with an amazing twelve nominations; Spongebob Squarepants and Mean Girls!
Both of these well known stories captured the hearts of many with an imminent feeling of nostalgia as the infamous characters hit the stage. And although announcers Katharine McPhee and Leslie Odom Jr. encountered some charming difficulties pronouncing some names, I’m looking at you Kat, the two did an amazing job as they recognized their fellow friends and acquaintances with the mutual love they all have for the art they exhibit on stage.
