As everyone waits with baited breath for the premier of WAVES on February 11th (Yes, It’s WAVES now) Kanye’s made sure that his name pops up in the headline on a daily basis.
This week has been wild for Hip Hop. From B.o.B. dissing astrophysicist Neil Degrasse Tyson, to Shkreli dissing Ghostface Killah, shots have been popping off all over the internet. Kanye decided to hop into the melee, after Wiz Khalifa criticized his choice of renaming the album to WAVES. In Wiz’s opinion, the new title is a slight ripoff of Max B. He sent some tweets, as rappers do in 2016 instead of calling people or making music, expressing his feelings.
Just so you know what true waves are. https://t.co/Mot3ab1Kuu

Kanye stayed silent until Wiz made a totally unrelated tweet about weed that he referred to as “KK”. Ye took that to mean Kim Kardashian and started going off on a tirade. The tweets have since been deleted but they included Ye suggesting he is the cause of Wiz’s son. The tweets were obviously screencapped in case of deletion and here is a snippet.
This little scrap ended with Kanye apologizing when he found out that “KK” actually meant weed. He seemed unfazed by the wild wave of insults he dropped on Wiz (and Amber).
The cause of this tweef (twitter beef) was the name switch of Ye’s upcoming album. No one is necessarily certain of what caused Ye to change his mind, and it should be noted that this isn’t the first name change as the album was originally supposed to be called So Help Me God. He released a picture of the tracklist surrounded by artists’ signatures. Most of the names seem to be indicative of collaborations, however Kim and Kylie both signed the sheet and they’re obviously not going to be on the record.
