Many of us are looking forward to 2017 for many reasons, now you have another one to add to the list. The XX has just announced a new tour, “I See You”, now coming to the US!
“Say Something” is their latest release, which will be part of their 3rd and newest album I See You.
If you are a fan of indie pop, indie electronic, or appreciate good music in general then you must have heard of The XX. This trio of talented performers have managed to create such a unique and pleasant sound, allowing them to leave a true mark in these genres and the music world as a whole. Since 2009, when the English group released their debut album “xx”, they have seen an incredible growth in their fan base and recognition worldwide. The band was well welcomed since the same year they released their debut, they were ranked 9th on Rolling Stones and second for NME. These accomplishments are remarkable, specially to start off, so it is no surprise that they have reached such a high level of respect in the music business.
Soon after they showed their musical genius to the world, the band was invited to play in the biggest festivals like Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, etc. It really did not take long for these three to take off and as the years have progressed so have their careers. Not only are their songs on demand, but so are their performances. Unfortunately for those of us who live in the US, the opportunities to see this incredible group live have not presented themselves often. Luckily, the time has come for The XX to take over the US and finally give their fans the performances they’ve been waiting for!
This tour will go hand in hand with their new album I See You, coming out in only 2 days! The “I See You” tour will first take place in Europe, where the band will be visiting Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Belgium and of course their hometown, the UK. Days after their last concert in the UK (March 17), they will make their way to America, hitting Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and head over to the US. They’ll start off in Cali, head to Arizona, then Oregon, Seattle, Canada, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Maryland, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York, Maine, Tennessee, and will make their way to Europe ending with Spain, Portugal, Norway, Finland and Netherlands.
The band has not had a tour of this scale in a few years, and many are already extremely excited. Some shows have already been sold out, including the 7 shows they’ll be performing back to back in London. If I was you, I’d be on the look-out for the dates in which the tickets will be released, since they will sell out like candy. With that being said, I will leave you with their musical greatness and the excitement for what’s to come with The XX.
