It’s a bright, balmy day in Hollywood, as Vulture’s 3rd annual Los Angeles Festival gears up for its first event of the day.
Set at the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt, the Vulture Festival is a vibrant celebration of pop culture, featuring “the best and boldest in TV, film, music and more.” In addition to the events, Vulture set up a fun lounge area with a pool, multiple bars, a Friends 25th reunion popup display, and other fun activities for festival attendees to enjoy between events. We had the chance to attend events with the stars of The Good Place, Superstore, and Bachelor Nation.
The Good Place’s “Hottest Boyfriend and Girl (Not a Girl) Friend” featured stars Manny Jacinto (plays Jason Mendoza) and D’Arcy Carden (plays Janet) engaging in a conversation about their non-traditional relationship. The audience was thoroughly entertained by their funny quips about life on set, jokes with costars, and favorite TV moments. Carden and Jacinto also discussed wrapping The Good Place’s fourth and final season, and left the attendees feeling like they got an inside look into their favorite characters on the show.
The second event we attended, “Attention Cloud 9 Shoppers! The Superstore Cast has Arrived,” was a humor-filled session in which the audience was treated to a sneak peek of Thursday’s upcoming episode. Cast members America Ferrara, Ben Feldman, Mark McKinney, Lauren Ash, Nico Santos, and Kaliko Kauahi discussed how their show uniquely engages with political discourse while showcasing the experience of the average working American. The session concluded with a hilarious “Big Box Retailer” trivia round that stumped both audience and cast members alike.
We finished off the day with Bachelor Nation’s “Couples Game Night” – fan-favorite couples Ashley and Jared, Jade and Tanner, Katie and Chris, and Cassie and Colton competed in a “who knows their partner best” guessing game moderated by Eric Bigger and Nick Viall. Audience members were brought into the game with trivia about The Bachelor franchise, complete with prizes. The session was lively and exciting as audience members rooted for their favorite couple and got to see what Bachelor stars were like in real life!
Vulture Festival was a wonderful celebration of pop culture, and a great way to showcase current TV shows and movies. We had a blast attending and are looking forward to next year!
