UNIQLO will hold its third annual “A Warm Gesture” program, which provides clothing for children and aligns with the brand’s global mission to improve people’s lives through the power of clothing.
This year, 350 children from across the country will be invited to shop at one of ten of UNIQLOs stores. Each child will be accompanied by a UNIQLO volunteer to help them shop for their favorite items and stay within their budget. Donation boxes have been set up store cash registers to give customers an opportunity to support the initiative through monetary donations. Money raised from donations will be matched 100% by UNIQLO. UNIQLO is currently participating in a 10 Million Ways to Help initiative with a goal to collect 10 million pieces of clothing worldwide with the purpose of donating this clothing to refugees in need in partnership with the UNHCR (UN Refugee Agency). There are bins in UNIQLO stores where customers can drop off gently worn clothing.
