It’s athleisure of the future.
That’s what’s on the docket for Under Amour’s 2017 Fall/Winter Collection. The sportswear brand unveiled their latest styles this week and we got a sneak peak at what UA aficionados will be drooling over this fall.
On the practical end, the latest collection was inspired by the athletic intelligence of UA’s roster of elite athletes. The brand works with dozens of athletes across sports, including Steph Curry, Misty Copeland, Cam Newton, Tom Brady, and Lindsey Vonn,
They took into account how athletes train, recover, and hone in on their mind. And how that translates to their attire.
But it wasn’t just about the athlete. Designers took to the streets of Detroit and found art that influenced the color palette and patterns (thank you Detroit for the neon shades of pink, purple, and blue in use).
And what we get is a comprehensive collection that is simultaneously about style as it is about substance.
For women, it was all about colorful leggings paired with bright bras and tanks. We especially loved an oversized white zipped up vest over colorblocked black/white leggings and a pair of three tone purple/black/gray leggings. As for the men, it was about the layering. Highlights included shiny gold joggers paired with a black bodysuit and a bright blue sweatshirt over black joggers with the same blue on the inseam.
But most excitingly, Under Armour’s latest collection is unexpected. We found ourselves loving just about everything on the rack, including a simple black leather jacket (again, it’s athleisure of the future, people).
