The Tribeca TV Festival presented by AT&T kicked off with many premieres and panels. The second season premiere of Blackpills’ web series, ‘Pillow Talk’ was one of them starring ‘Suits’ actor Patrick J. Adams.
The web-series is written and directed by Mike Piscitelli and another writer is actress/model, Rachel Taylor.
The series revolves around a bachelor named Ryan who becomes involved with Tinder and free porn. As season 2 approaches the topics of love and loss are heavily explored.
The main climax of the season is the death of his best friend. The show gets more dark and humorous as Ryan is in the middle of dealing with his best friend’s suicide.
It is a show about a flawed man who finds himself more each time he hooks up with a woman.
Ryan deals with his problems little by little, one episode at time. He seems to also be smitten by “Slutty Emma.” The ending was a crazy cliff hanger, so let’s hope for another season of multiple 8-10 minute episodes showing Ryan’s life.
After the showing, the writers, Taylor and Piscitelli joined Adams on the stage for a panel discussion. The three of them described how they got Patrick J. Adams involved through a mutual friend between Piscitelli and Adams. Once Adams signed on, more actors starting jumping on board like Brenda Strong, who plays his mother.
The three of them spoke about how having a web series is a freeing experience. It gives them more room to touch on topics that are a little bit controversial and real, but still not crazy enough to scare people away.
