Travis Scott, a recording artist from Houston, Texas, has generated hype over the course of months about his upcoming album “Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.”
To some, this news may be more speculation than actual fact, simply because it has seemed like Travis Scott has spent almost the whole of the year 2016 promising a new album drop. In May, he even announced that it was forthcoming, stating that it would be released in a few days. Then, when that release didn’t happen, he said in June that it was only a week away. It is now the end of July, and he has yet again announced at his concert in New York last Monday that the album is right around the corner, the difference being, this time, he has a set date: August 5th. He even previewed a new track from “Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight” during his show, which raised even more interest in the much-anticipated album.
Scott has always had an explosive career from the start, from his debut studio album “Rodeo,” released in 2015, which featured high-profile artists such as Kanye West, Future, Justin Bieber, and the Weeknd, to name a few. One of the singles, which supported the album, “Antidote,” became his highest charted single on Billboard Hot 100, and he has remained a champion in the Hip Hop arena since.
While Travis Scott’s rebellious, confident allure certainly entices people to want his new album, the wait which never seems to end, which also, unfortunately has created doubt and leveled some of the excitement that his fans have harbored since hearing of this new, ever elusive album.
Only time will tell if Travis Scott will stay true to his word, though. Come August 5th, in a mere week’s time, fans will know if the wait was worth it, or if the doubt was justified.
