Miami Art Week always sizzles but never more than when it’s showcasing exciting artists — and this Art Week topped itself when The Standard Spa, Miami Beach, Supermarket Creative’s Look + See Projects, and The Future Perfect presented Disco + Design, an exhibition that explored this intersection through immersive, multi-sensory experiences.

The Standard brand has now become, well… standard in top cities around the world, and to mark the hotel’s 25th anniversary — three hotel rooms were transformed into distinct vignettes via furniture provided by The Future Perfect and a select group of its artists and designers.

The exhibition celebrated The Standard and Look + See Projects’ disco’s enduring influence on contemporary design, music, and cultural movements.

To reinforce The Standard’s 25th silver anniversary, a specific room highlighted a metallic disco theme while others incorporated Wabi Sabi and Glam concepts.

Spanning past, present, and future, the installation at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach combined a diorama exhibition with heritage and contextual information — exploring the impact of disco on design across furniture, textiles, lighting, audio, and art down to each detail.

With each room having its own identity and character, it gave attendees plenty of fun ways to obsess over the designs and live out their 70s interior dreams, reimagining themselves and living it up retro-style.

Furniture and lighting selections from The Future Perfect included pieces by Chris Wolston, Ian Collings, Reinaldo Sanguino, Chen Chen & Kai Williams, Jason Koharik, Floris Wubben, Shore Studios, Bocci, Marta Sala Editions, Roll & Hill, Thompson Street Studio, USM, and more.

The Future Perfect — with locations in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco — continues to redefine contemporary design, showcasing studio-created works alongside one-of-a-kind and limited pieces and tailoring each space to the eclectic tastes of each city.

Soundscapes, curated by renowned producer, Nicky Nighttime + Michelle Leshem, showcased a mix of disco’s eclectic range from groovy to cosmic for each diorama.

And with these groovy tunes wafting through the room, you were tempted to break into a 70s dance pose… Okay, pics so you know it happened. And yes, it happened. Many times. This is Miami Beach, after all.

To further celebrate this exciting milestone, an exclusive preview cocktail event was held at The Standard’s Lobby Terrace on December 4th, drawing a dynamic crowd of art enthusiasts, designers, and cultural tastemakers to have the first look at the installation.

Notable guests included Bilal Rehman, Crystal Paris, Seth Toxler, and Bailey Li, who mingled against the vibrant backdrop of the exhibition while enjoying custom cocktails inspired by disco’s glamorous and long-lasting legacy.

The evening perfectly encapsulated the spirit of Disco + Design, offering guests an opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich interplay of sound, design, and storytelling.
