The gala draws celebrity supporters every year and Thursday was no exception. Grammy Award winning artist Estelle performed for the crowd opening her set with now classic “American Boy.” Orange is the New Black actress Uzo Aduba was in attendance as was Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler who served as the gala’s Honorary Co-Chair of the host committee.
Guests enjoyed an open bar, appetizers, buffet style dinner, and a silent auction. But perhaps the most interactive moment was the live auction hosted by Sotheby’s own auctioneer C. Hugh Hildesley, who had the crowd laughing and bidding on items like a date with a SI model sitting court side at NY Knicks game, a Caribbean cruise, and playing tennis at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens.
Proceeds raised will benefit young leaders and the communities they work in by supporting the sustainable solutions they are creating and helping to provide them an ecosystem of resources.
