The inner saboteur is running rampant The Knockturnal: Where were you when you got the call to be on All Stars?
Jaymes Mansfield: I was actually at a drag brunch in Los Vegas. I had to walk down and pretend like I was taking a call from a tax person. And I got the call and screamed, went back inside, and didn’t say anything to anyone.
The Knockturnal: What’s different about your drag now when compared to your original season?
Jaymes Mansfield: Probably everything. It’s a lot more elevated. That’s what people say when you’re not ugly anymore, right?
The Knockturnal: Who from the cast did you think was your biggest competition?
Jaymes Mansfield: Honestly the biggest competition was myself.
The Knockturnal: Describe the season in 3 words.
Jaymes Mansfield: Three words? Oh jeez…
The Knockturnal: That can be one.
Jaymes Mansfield: Oh okay! Jeez, OMG, and um!
The Knockturnal: Pick three people from the cast for your dream blunt rotation.
Jaymes Mansfield: I personally do not partake. But I imagine if I did I would go with the ones who always have the good stuff. So, Heidi, Jimbo, and Alexis!
The Knockturnal: Where were you when got the call for All Stars?
Monica Beverly Hillz: I was actually on my way to go tan. I was working out and then I was going to go tan.
The Knockturnal: What’s different about your drag now when compared to your original season?
Monica Beverly Hillz: Well I have a lot more money this time. In Season 5 you could just bring whatever you had in your closet. This time around everything is amplified by 1000%.
The Knockturnal: Who do you think was your biggest competition?
Monica Beverly Hillz: I would say myself. I know sometimes I can get in my head.
The Knockturnal: Describe the season in 3 words.
Monica Beverly Hillz: Shake, rattle, and boom!
The Knockturnal: Pick three people from the cast for your dream blunt rotation.
Monica Beverly Hillz: Jimbo, Heidi, and Kahanna.
The Knockturnal: Where were you when got the call for All Stars?
Heidi In Closet: I was sitting at home on my couch playing video games and figuring out my next tour that I was going to go do. And unfortunately I didn’t get to do that tour but I got to do something just as fun.
The Knockturnal: What’s different about your drag now when compared to your original season?
Heidi In Closet: I think I have a more fully realized concept of what my drag is. Last time around I wasn’t a baby queen but I was still sort of new to it. I was more in the club scene. I go to the club, dance for two numbers, and then I’m done. So now I have come to understand what I like on my body and how to present myself.
The Knockturnal: Pick three people from the cast for your dream blunt rotation.
Heidi In Closet: Jimbo, Monica, and the third would be a toss up between Alexis and Kandy.
The Knockturnal: Where were you when got the call for All Stars?
Mrs. Kasha Davis: I was in Chicago at brunch. And I love brunches because it’s all middle aged gals and their mothers and sprinkled in with some LGBTQs. Here’s the thing, most of the gay fellas have already seen most of the drag. But it’s a great time for us to show the world who we are and for our allies to come support us. So I got the call in the hotel room and said, ‘Who cancelled?’
The Knockturnal: What’s different about your drag now when compared to your original season?
Mrs. Kasha Davis: When I was on my season, it was all the Goodwill, what I could borrow from everyone else, and a lot of retail. And now I am fortunate enough to know you can work with designers and get something to actually fit my broad shoulders. And I have learned so much throughout the years. Being the workhorse queen, being the one always working, and really meeting the gals from the local clubs and learning from them. Just because you’ve been on Rupaul’s Drag Race doesn’t mean you know it all.
The Knockturnal: Who do you think was your biggest competition?
Mrs. Kasha Davis: Always myself. I have learned from my 8 years of sobriety that one of my biggest obstacles is to make comparison and to doubt myself. And I learned from my mother that right after you brush your teeth, you look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself, ‘I love you.’ Because when you love yourself, everything is possible.
The Knockturnal: Where were you when got the call for All Stars?
Alexis Michelle: I was actually with my mom and my stepdad. We had all been at Drag Con one week earlier and all of us were in limbo and on hold. And I knew they weren’t going to tell us before Drag Con because it would’ve spread like wildfire.
The Knockturnal: What’s different about your drag now when compared to your original season?
Alexis Michelle: It’s interesting. Obviously there has been a big elevation, a big glow up. But even in Season 9, I don’t know that I really portrayed the queen I was aesthetically then. And now I’m a new queen so that is one of my goals for this season. It was the bring the looks at all time.
The Knockturnal: Who do you think was your biggest competition?
Alexis Michelle: The truth is, everybody in this cast came with something to do, achieve, unlock, and prove. And that meant this incredible group brought their A game. So I would say every single girl was competition.
The Knockturnal: Describe the season in 3 words.
Alexis Michelle: Sisterhood, emotions, and tenacity.
The Knockturnal: Pick three people from the cast for your dream blunt rotation.
Alexis Michelle: You’re going to need a bigger rotation than 3 with this group. But I will tell you the people I did it with today. Heidi, Jimbo, and Monica.
The Knockturnal: Where were you when got the call for All Stars?
Kandy Muse: I was actually on a Canadian tour with Jimbo and Heidi. So I got the call and had to pretend like nothing happened. It was back to back so I got the call and left the room. And then she left the room. And I was like hmmm.
The Knockturnal: What’s different about your drag now when compared to your original season?
Kandy Muse: On Season 13 I was more focused on being everywhere and trying new things because I was on Drag Race. But this time around I am really honing in on my sex appeal, my curves, and being fashion forward. But, I still stand by the alien look. She was camp. And she is in storage – she’s been a good girl.
The Knockturnal: Who do you think was your biggest competition?
Kandy Muse: Wait first of all, I wanna know how many girls said themselves. Girl, shutup! There are some really good competitors here. Obviously me and Lala competed on the same season so I know what she is capable of. And there are girls I have seen compete like Jimbo who is such big competition. And then Alexis, she made Top 4 on her season. This is a cast of great competitors. Like even though Naysha went home early on her season, she is still Miss Continental. The competition aspect is still there.
The Knockturnal: Describe the season in 3 words.
Kandy Muse: Dramatic, iconic, and one-of-the-best-seasons-of-drag-race-of-all-time.
The Knockturnal: Pick three people from the cast for your dream blunt rotation.
Kandy Muse: We have a group chat that’s me, Kahanna, Monica, Jimbo, Heidi, and… girl the whole cast would be fun.
The Knockturnal: Where were you when got the call for All Stars?
Jimbo: I was on somewhere on tour!
The Knockturnal: What’s different about your drag now when compared to your original season?
Jimbo: I am always trying to level up my drag so it is more explosive, more polished, and more beautiful.
The Knockturnal: Who do you think was your biggest competition?
Jimbo: My biggest competition was Kandy’s biceps.
The Knockturnal: Describe the season in 3 words.
Jimbo: Chaos, drama, and fashion!
The Knockturnal: Pick three people from the cast for your dream blunt rotation.
Jimbo: Well, I know it already because we did it. It’s Heidi, my little bestie. Monica, my gorgeous sister. And the third one is Kahanna.
