by Kenneillia South February 19, 2016
written by Kenneillia South
Kanye West recently debuted his new album “The Life of Pablo” at the Madison Square Garden and is currently streaming it exclusively through Tidal. West has recently revealed that he has over 40 songs with both Kendrick Lamar and Young Thug (boy! that’s a lot of songs) and on Twitter revealing that he has new music on the way with Drake and Future. He is doing a lot for himself. Kanye did not mention if any of the tracks featured both Drake and Future, but he did say that its all coming soon.

Kanye reportedly thanked Drake for his help on writing both “30 Hours” and “Father Stretch My Hands.”
West previously rapped alongside Drake and Big Sean’s “Blessings” and the 2009 anthem “Forever,” which also featured Lil Wayne and Eminem. He also collaborated with Future once before for the 2014 love note “I Won.”

Kanye remained in the headlines when Page Six turned into TMZ and released exclusive audio of his alleged meltdown at SNL this past Saturday. He said:

“Are they f—–g crazy? Whoa by 50 percent [I am more influential than] Stanley Kubrick, Picasso, Apostle Paul, f—–g Picasso and Escobar. By 50 percent more influential than any other human being. Don’t f–k with me. Don’t f–k with me. Don’t f–k with me. By 50 percent dead or alive, by 50 percent for the next 1,000 years. Stanley Kubrick, ‘Ye.”

Well+Good & EVEN Hotels Present: Fashion Week Wellness

by Andrea Christensen February 19, 2016
written by Andrea Christensen

On Wednesday February 17, health company Well+Good teamed up with Even Hotels, a new wellness focused hotel, to present a Fashion Week Wellness event. Guests were treated to 45 minute yoga classes, meditation and reiki sessions, facials, manicures, and more! Also there was healthy cookbook extraordinaire, Candice Kumai, and Dr. Drew Ramsey, author of 50 Shades of Kale.

Candice Kumai gave a live demonstration of how to cook healthy snacks (peanut butter and chocolate balls!), easy green smoothies (secret ingredient: matcha powder), and quick Japanese bento boxes. She also shared with us an exclusive health secret: eat less meat! Her trick is to think of meat as a treat, not an every day food. Dr. Ramsey also was there to give us tips on how to use more kale in our diet, the superfood. There was also yummy kale and gin cocktails, a surprisingly smooth combo.

Guests were given gift bags for ultimate pampering, relaxation, and health to help them get through the rest of hectic fashion week. In the goody bags were copies of Candice’s new book, Clean Green Eats, a tinted lip conditioner from Ilia, nail polish from Deborah Lippmann, Stem Cellular Eye Lift Masks from Juice Beauty, Pür Miracle Mist, Essential oils from Naturopathica, and more!

On The Scene: Papyrus NYFW Party & Leanne Marshall’s Fall 2016 Presentation

by Robin Green February 17, 2016
written by Robin Green

Papyrus hosted a fashion week pop-up party at the Clarkson Skylight in honor of celebrating their eighth consecutive season of being a sponsor. This year the theme was “Every detail matters” which focused their variety of distinctively crafted stationary. Many cards were infused with embellishments, others offered bold color combinations and some were more simple. Just like fashion week, there’s something that everybody can find appealing. The event was held in a lounge area with couches and décor dispersed throughout as well as a photo booth and open bar which made it easy for people to mingle. Greeting cards were given out as appreciation along with complimentary postage for those who wanted to use them right away. The event provided the perfect platform for those who wanted to socialize before attending a show and everybody looked like they were having a good time.

After the party we headed to one the the shows! Leanne Marshall’s fall/winter collection consisted of exquisitely constructed gowns that conveyed a new kind of elegance. Getting her debut as ‘Project Runways’ season 5 winner, Marshall has been able to establish her own aesthetic and cultivate her talents to consistently captivate the audience. This season earth tones were the primary shades incorporating hues of bronze, gold and silver to give it that extra pop. The delicate fabrics created a fragile illusion between the silk, chiffon and lace that loosely swayed as the models moved down the catwalk. Gowns with sheer cut-outs and low necklines offered a refined intimacy that didn’t take away from the sophistication. The details were well thought out and executed in a way that only enhanced the concept of the timid classiness the pieces portrayed. This collection ultimately revealed Marshall’s self-confidence in her brand and skill- she may be new to the scene but she doesn’t fail to leave a lasting impression.
