The Biltmore Hotel located in Coral Gables hosted the annual Maestro Cares Foundation Golf Tournament.
This year the foundation teamed up with the PGA TOUR to host the tournament.
“I’m thrilled to join forces with the PGA TOUR and raise the visibility of this tournament that will provide critical resources to families and children in need,” Marc Anthony said.
Maestro Cares is a foundation founded by renowned Puerto Rican singer Marc Anthony and known industry leader Henry Cardenas in 2012. The mission of the foundation is to “improve the quality of life of disadvantaged children and communities in Latin America and the United States.” The golf tournament brings together artists and other celebrities to fulfill this mission.
The celebrities that attended this year were radio personalities like Enrique Santos, Tony Dandrades, DJ Extreme, and singers like Chayanne, Luis Fonsi and Luis Figueroa.
“It’s an honor to bring together friends and family to play together in support of this important cause that is so close to my heart. It is a blessing to continue making a difference for Latino youth and communities with Maestro Cares Foundation, and events like this help us continue to grow and make an even bigger impact,” Marc Anthony said.
The Knockturnal had a chance to talk with Puerto Rican singer Luis Figueroa about what the tournament means to him and his upcoming projects.
“Just being a part of the cause with so many amazing artists, obviously my mentor Marc Anthony, you know all of my colleagues for the first time. This is my first time so man, it means everything to me to give back every little grain of salt really counts,” he says about being part of the foundation’s golf tournament.
The foundation has helped 13 different countries with 27 projects in them, aiding children and communities as a whole.
