The Gayming Awards threw me for a fruit loop. With drag queens, entertainers, and liquor far as the eye could see, this isn’t the kind of party I associate with gamers. I gotta pick up a controller more often.
It was a star-studded event from start to finish, live telecast at the Abbey in West Hollywood, which you may recall is the bar Chappell Roan affectionately calls the ‘Pink Pony Club.’
Also, my ex-boyfriend is banned there!
Drag race superstars Farrah Moan, Rock M. Sakura, Acacia Forgot, actor Brandon Rogers, and a SLEW of power gays I’ve seen in various states of being throughout the years were in attendance, with the dapper meter turned to 11.
Zee Machine sings the house down.
My bestie Zee Machine sang the bar into conniptions and ended his set as all tops do: swinging from a pole on the bar.
Awards hosts DEERE and MiladyConfetti kept the event pushing with quick wit and bits for days.
There were 12 categories in total, honoring a selection of video games, TV shows, organizations, esports names, and content creators, all of whom have made huge waves in the industry and fought for diversity and inclusion.
Robin Gray, Gayming Magazine & Gayming Awards Founder, said: “Every year, I’m honored to uplift and celebrate creators, game makers, and industry workers through our Awards. This year’s winners represent a wonderfully diverse group of people, all of whom are working to make our industry better in their own way.”
