Tennis superstar host Feliciano Lopez and newcomer Alexander Zverev.
The US Open has descended upon New York in a whirlwind of special events! The Taste of Tennis Player’s Party went down Saturday August 27 at St. Cloud, the swanky rooftop bar and cigar lounge of the incomparable Knickerbocker Hotel.
The guest of honor was longtime tennis star Feliciano Lopez, who hosted the party to welcome the newcomer Alexander Zverev. Both cheesed it up in front of the cameras, posing with guests and each other throughout the night.
The event was well complimented by the stellar venue. Two corners of the hotel’s rooftop are an open-air deck that overlooks gorgeous views of Times Square in all directions. Even the décor was adapted to the special event, with vases of flowers containing a few tennis balls each.
The atmosphere felt light and fun, as though the players were getting in a last chance at relaxation before the big matches start up on Monday, the 29.
Lopez, who turned pro in 1997, the year that Zverev was born, has a long history at competitions all over the world. Zverev, on the other hand, has only been pro since 2013, but he ranked 1st in the Grand Slam Singles at the 2015 US Open.
