A film for the ages
“Fathom” had its World Premiere in the Documentary Competition section at Tribeca Film Festival, before streaming on Apple TV+ in the US starting June 25th.
A documentary about grit and gratitude, “Blind Ambition” profiles four sommeliers competing for team Zimbabwe at the World Blind Wine Tasting Championships in Bordeaux, France.
Queen Latifah’s production company, Queen Collective, and 8:46 Films celebrated Tribeca Film Festival with a panel and after party hosted by Proctor & Gamble (P&G).
The cast and co-directors of the new highly anticipated film How It Ends, starring Zoe Lister-Jones as Liza and Cailee Spaeny as Young Liza, and is written, directed, and produced by Lister-Jones and Daryl Wein. It’s a pandemic comedy that’s not about COVID-19.
During the Tribeca Film Festival this past weekend, Kerry Washington’s ‘IN THE SUN’ made its premiere at a special screening. The cast and crew of this film were present at the screening, including Dr. Shirley Chi, Courtney Chott, Monique Mack, Lucy Abdullah, Laura Moser, Kondwani Phiri, Chelsea Hoff, Bobby Moser, and Kristelle Laroche.
False Positive (2021) directed by John Lee and written by Lee and Ilana Glazer, and story by Alissa Nutting, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in their Spotlight Narrative section.
The film follows Lucy (Ilana Glazer) and her husband Adrian (Justin Theroux) as their struggle to get pregnant continues. Adrian, a doctor, suggests they visit his old teacher Dr. Hindle (Pierce Brosnan) who happens to be one of the best fertility doctors in the country. Soon, Dr.Hindle’s special fertility treatment works and Lucy becomes pregnant. Initially, a joyful experience, as she continues to be seen by Dr. Hindle, she grows increasingly paranoid and suspicious of the doctor, a concern she shares with another mom-to-be and friend, Corgan (Sophia Bush). Lucy also fixates on a midwife she comes across Grace (Zainab Jah). What follows is a wicked web of unending questions reminiscent of Rosemary’s Baby, that leads Lucy to uncover the truth behind Dr. Hindle and his practice.
The film premieres on Hulu, Friday, June 25th.
The stars were out on Friday night at the Tribeca Film Festival for the world premiere of 1950s crime drama ‘No Sudden Move’.
For Tribeca 2021, there have been socially distanced celebrations in the name of Film and an opening that the pandemic may soon be behind us. One event in imparticular was one of the Supper Suite series parties hosted by Sony Pictures Classics for the pre-premiere party of “I Carry You With Me” at Nearly Ninth in Arlo Midtown.
The event was sponsored by Super Supper in partnership with GREY GOOSE Essences as well as Peroni Nastro Azzurro beer, Peroni, Billionaires Row Champagne, and PAC Protocol.
Christian Vasquez (Elysium), Michelle Rodriguez (Emma), and directed by Heidi Ewing. In attendance at the pre-reception were Heidi Ewing, Geraldo Zabaleta, Michelle González, Brent Miller, and Mynette Louie.
The Supper Suites reception for Sony Pictures Classics film “I CARRY YOU WITH ME” is a celebrated return of live screenings and events with intimate receptions and dinners. The event provided generous offerings of food and drinks and was a great time to relax and enjoy the sun and atmosphere. For one of the first times since the pandemic was upon us, the attendees could come together and celebrate lay freely in person, and the generous environment thanks to Supper Suites.
