On Monday, September 9th, singer and now designer Jessie James Decker presented her fashion line Kittenish on the Style360NYFW runway. Style360, presented by Klarna, has several venues that hosted NYFW runway shows. Style360 partnered with Klarna, a payment provider for both merchants and shoppers, hosted the Kittenish fashion show, shopping event, and NYFW after-party.
On Saturday, September 7th, Son Jung Wan held her NYFW runway show at Spring Studios. We got to go backstage with sponsor, Gamma+, a haircare tool company.
On Monday, September 9th, Alice and Olivia by Stacey Bendet held her SS20′ NYFW presentation at Root Studios. Alice and Olivia’s SS20′ collection was packed with color and intricate embroidery. Alice and Oliva’s presentation style show had multiple staged displays with different colored themes. TRESemmé’s Global Stylist, Justine Marjan, used the color-themed room to inspire her to create three gorgeous NYFW looks.
Unilever’s Hair Expert, Ursula Stephens lead the TRESemmé hairstyling team backstage for Studio 189 SS20′ NYFW show. Studio 189’s collection titled “Heritage” was not only inspired by African clothing but also is made in Africa. The brands ss20′ runway show was a beautiful presentation of African culture mixed with high fashion.
Essence is so much more than just a magazine for black women. Essence has become the number one media, technology, and commerce company for black women to date. This year Essence held their Essence Fashion House in NYC at Affirmation Arts, to continue the celebration of the first Essence Best in Black Fashion Awards. Essence Fashion House brought together black designers, stylists, influencers, and fashions lovers for an all-day fashion extravaganza. During the day-long event, guests were apart of panel discussions, a master class, and runway shows.

Victoria Hayes debuted at NYFW and did not disappoint. Since launching her label in 2016, Hayes has dressed celebrities like Ariana Grande, Cardi B, Lady Gaga, and many more. Hayes’s, ‘SPACE JAM’ inspired SS20 collection was wearable, glamorous, and bold.
On Wednesday, Sept. 4th Parsons School of Designs held their 8th generation 2019 MFA Runway Show. Just two days before the start of the official NYFW, Parsons MFA 2019 runway presented at the Spring Studios. Twelve graduate designers had the opportunity to showcase their incredible collections.
