Exclusive: Simu Liu talks ‘Arthur the King’ movie – Mark Wahlberg [VIDEO]
Grab your tissues and some treats because we have the most PAWsome movie to tell you about! Arthur the King is based on the true story of Mikael Lindnord (played by Mark Wahlberg) and a stray that he named Arthur. In the movie, the two bond over meatballs, Arthur becomes smitten, and the pair race through the Dominican Republic together. In real life, Lindnord raced across Ecuador with the mutt. The movie explores how a “ruff” lookin’ pup unites a team of people pushing their limits.
Excitingly, Arthur the King has partnered with Best Friends Animal Society to bring attention to dog adoption.
The Knockturnal enjoyed a private screening of Arthur the King with Mikael Lindnord… AND surprise appearances by Mark Wahlberg, Simu Liu, the “Arthur” pup, and more at Westfield Century City AMC in Los Angeles!
Set up outside the movie theater was an official Arthur the King PAWty with bites, beverages, epic photo booths, a climbing wall, a pup adoption center, and a K9 playpen! A DJ blasted Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch’s iconic single “Good Vibrations” while calligraphers created custom paw print art for animal lovers.
Along the green carpet… DOG HAIR? Don’t care! Pup-arazzi caught Mikael Lindnord using a lent roller down Simu Liu’s top after Simu posed for several photos with his adopted canine, Chopa! Simu met Chopa on the set of Arthur the King. (Chopa was a background mutt. No autographs, please.) Simu, who plays adrenaline influencer “Leo” in the film, tells The Knockturnal’s Kinsey Schofield that the international adoption process was difficult and he would like to improve travel protocols. (Listen to him explain in the interview above.)

Don’t Worry Darling, the highly anticipated Olivia Wilde film starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles, about a housewife living in the idyllic community of Victory, can only be seen one way: at Dolby Cinemas.
Pugh, who plays Alice Chambers, a woman wholly devoted to her husband, Jack (Styles), begins to question her surroundings as she experiences vivid dreams and hallucinations. She also starts to challenge the founder of the Victory Project, Frank (played by Chris Pine), who has a stronghold on the residents of this seemingly utopian community.
The film is visually stunning, featuring vibrant colors of a Palm Springs-like atmosphere contrasted with scenes showcasing a vast desert landscape. With Dolby’s high resolution screen, viewers were truly able to see the beauty of the film so viscerally that at times we almost felt as though we were in the desert with Alice. Dolby’s visual experience is further augmented by the sound quality, wherein viewers can hear and feel the complementary music score composed by John Powell.
The film begins by showing the passion between Alice and Jack, who are newlyweds as well as new residents of Victory. Every day, Jack drives to work through the desert and over to a large, ominous dome that sits atop a hill, miles away from Victory’s city center. Alice begins to experience lucid dreams and visions at varying hours of the day and night, which become unsettling to her as she begins to confront Frank and his wife, Shelley (Gemma Chan), about what is really going on at Jack’s workplace and what the purpose of the Victory Project really is.
Between Alice’s visions of black and white synchronized swimmers, being pressed between a wall and a glass door, and surrounding her own head with saran wrap, Don’t Worry Darling creates a visually stunning and yet incredibly tense experience for the viewer with an mind-blowing twist at the end.
Our suggestion? Put aside the off-screen drama and go see this visual masterpiece at a Dolby Cinema near you.
Have you ever felt flooded with guilt for immediately unsubscribing from a mailing list after utilizing the coupon code that you got for subscribing to their mailing list?
If the answer is yes then expect to experience a rollercoaster of emotions while watching Bebe Rexha in Queenpins. Queenpins is based on a real-life multimillion-dollar criminal couponing bust that happened in Phoenix, Arizona. Bebe plays Tempe Tina, a hardcore hacker that helps Kristen Bell and Kirby Howell-Baptist with their coupon scheme. We probably haven’t seen a hacker this hot since Angelina Jolie in… well… Hackers!
Bebe talked Tempe Tina to The Knockturnal‘s Kinsey Schofield, “Playing this character, she is extremely, like, in your face. She’s all about the business. She’s not trying to waste time, she’s trying to just get straight to the money. Make her money. Do her thing and move right along. That’s what I loved about this character. She’s just super strong, super kick-ass, and it kind of reminds me of the people I was surrounded by in New York. And you know, I’m from New York too. It’s just that energy that I love, so yeah, I love playing a badass chick!”
While Tempe Tina might an identity thief, Bebe likes to play by the rules! “Have you ever stolen something?” asked Kinsey, “Probably when I was younger. I think I stole gum or something from the store and my mom freaked out and like made me bring it back. You know when you were a baby and you would just grab,” admits the award-winning musician. “Other than that, not really! I’m too much of a scaredy-cat to steal something!” “You’re a good girl!” Kinsey reiterates,
