Nanette Lepore debuted her Spring Summer line which features regal baroque prints mixed with daring florals as in bold, feminine silhouettes. Though the collection is small as always, she packs a punch with every look in a way that makes the collection feel whole.

Across from the Museum of Modern Art, at the the Baccarat hotel, another masterpiece was staking its claim. Nanette Lepore presented her Fall 2016 line at the Baccarat Bar, and each of the eight styles on display were their own work of art.
Nanette delivered a blast from the past in her new line wither her use of paisley, leopard print, and flared pants.
Some notable pieces were blue and violet spotted boucle coats draped perfectly over paisley printed dresses, a stunning deep purple ruffled dress with flowers and birds embroidered by hand and a velvet tie, and a flared pinstripe jumpsuit, with a paisley scarf and a purple beaded bomber jacket. The velvet jacket was Nanette’s personal favorite piece.
Nanette’s daughter and inspiration for her line, Violet, was also at the presentation, wearing a black velvet minidress from the fall collection, and posing with the tea and cakes like quite the Alice in Wonderland.
Nanette’s new line is rich and enchanting, and when asked about her inspiration for the line, she said.
“It was inspired by a posh tea party, the idea of getting dressed up in a modern girl way to go to a traditional tea. When you really look at a traditional tea, it started off in the boudoir, and women would wear their nightgowns and sometimes the would even be topless and be really wild. They would have these teas in the forest. I took all of these ideas and the different locations and made a really lush collection with really beautiful soft velvets and mysterious and enchanting prints. It was the idea of mixing and having fun, and doing something that you want to get dressed up for.”
With a gorgeous line like Nanette’s, I would not mind falling down the rabbit hole.
