The biggest reveal to come out of last week’s Power Book II: Ghost is that Lauren is alive and is under Jenny’s supervision. But she does not want to hide in the shadows for that long.
Exclusive: Michael Rainey Jr., Method Man, Mary J Blige, and more talk Power Book II: Ghost season 3.
‘Power Book II: Ghost’ season three begins with Tariq St. Patrick looking for his trust, his family, and his way out of the game forever. As Effie, Brayden, and Tariq are challenged to move more weight than ever before, a ruthless new connection interrupts Tariq’s plans to reunite with Tasha and Yaz. The drug business expands beyond Stansfield and the streets to Wall Street when Brayden hires Tariq as an intern at his family’s hedge fund Weston Holdings.
The death of Zeke Cross has set Monet Tejada on fire, and she is willing to pay anything to avenge him and keep her family – and business – safe as she works closely with Davis MacLean to solve Zeke’s murder.
As the season is set to return on Mar 17, 2023, fans are awaiting to see how these stories will continue from the explosive cliffhanger. Since an R.I.C.O. investigation has been launched into the entire drug business, there are many questions that are likely to be answered, which could bring Tariq closer to his father’s legacy and deeper into the business.
Ahead of the season 3 premiere of Power Book II: Ghost, I got the chance to speak with the stars of the series. Interviewed are Michael Rainey Jr., Alix Lpri, Gianni Paolo, Method Man, Mary J. Blige, Woody McClain, Lovell Adams-Gray, LaToya Tonodeo, and more as they all tell us what is going down on this season.
Power Book II: Ghost is back to kick of its third season. After a long wait, fans of the series are in for a thrill of unexpected twists.
The first words that I said upon watching this week’s Power Book II: Ghost is “That escalated quickly.” I said that once the news about Zeke’s real age became public during his press conference.
This week’s episode of Powerbook II:Ghost taught a lesson. That is, unlikely partnerships can lead to a huge success. That is the case as Monet (Mary J. Blige) got Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) and Cain (Woody McClain) to drop their feud and to work with each other. They put their bygones aside and begin to work together for the time being. Cain is even starting to trust Brayden even more now.
While on the subject of trust, Cain is not sure yet if he can trust Mecca. Especially since he is interested in Monet. Whether if Mecca is using Monet for his own advantage or not, we will see this play out in the coming episodes with this potential love triangle. At least Cain got a chance to see what Mecca can do if he double crosses him!
One thing I can also say that I liked, is the new “trade off” system Tariq and Brayden created that blended in with the outside wall. This is quite clever as only a QR scan is needed to open it. That means nothing would be traced back to them if they get caught. It is also a good thing that Tariq got personal with Lauren and showed her his younger sister he is trying to gain custody of. But the truth of what Tariq has been doing will come out soon.
Even so, the authorities are getting closer to the leading suspect of Jabari’s murderer. This is because Zeke gives Whitman a PBA card signed by Ramirez. That piece of evidence will be crucial to the entire investigation.
Overall, a really solid episode. And Davis McClean (Method Man) and Cooper Saxe’s (Shane Johnson) partnership is growing on me. Next week’s episode will follow up on every single situation that was presented on today’s episode of Powerbook II: Ghost.
