Everyone can think back to the moment they received their very first blue box. It was an important right of passage, one that was most likely followed by several other Tiffany pieces later on. “Crazy About Tiffany’s”, Matthew Miele’s newest fashion film, packs in the magic of Tiffany’s in an hour and twenty seven minutes. The movie begins with the story of March 11,1888, the night of the Great White Hurricane, a storm that was much worse than the one we’re experiencing on the East Coast this weekend. Founder, Charles Lewis Tiffany, made his way through fifty feet of snow to open the Union Square location where only one purchase was made that day- silver polish. Tiffany’s superior customer service remains the same over a century later.
The film is a must see for anyone who has heard of the brand. After memorable Tiffany & Co.scenes in Sweet Home Alabama (2002), Friends, (1944-2004), Bride Wars (2009), and the most iconic Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961), New Yorkers have long obsessed over the brand. The film delves into the origins of the Tiffany’s and leads viewers through it’s history. The film has cameo appearances by Rachel Zoe, Jessica Biel, Kate Couric, Baz Luhrmann, Fran Lebowitz, Kate Young, among others. The film will be released on February 18. The film opens on February 19th in New York City at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center and On Demand everywhere.
