NYFW: CHOGHENG FW’19 Presentation
We attended Chocheng’s NYFW Spring/Summer 2019 Runway show and here’s what happened.
Held in Gallery 2, Chocheng redesigned the runway to look like old, romantic, hollywood movie sets with large silver lights, benches and street signs. The theme this season was heavily influenced by the 50s film “The Best of Everything” as well as other classic Hollywood movies like The Girl and classic heroines like Joan Crawford and Natalie Wood.
The silhouettes this season are “caped, curved and streamlined” and the color palette included a variety of softer muted tones and pastels like lavender, baby pink and mint green as well as bold classic grapevine-tomato red. Hollywood romanticism was at the core of the collection. Fabrics included in the collection are cotton boucle, linen shirting and cotton knits and lace. Other notable details included capes, bibs, collars embroidery, ruffles and much more.
Chocheng is a womenswear label launched in 2010 by designer Cho Cho Cheng. Known around the world for its detail, Chocheng as a brand only uses 100% natural materials. Sustainability plays a huge roll in, not only the collection itself, but in the brand as a whole. All Chocheng fabrics are sustainable and produced in Europe.
