The New York-based womenswear label CHOCHENG debuted its Fall-Winter 2020 collection at New York Fashion Week on Friday, February 7that Spring Studios in New York City.
The brand’s designer Cho Cho Cheng consistently looks to the cinema to find inspiration for his collections. He’s most frequently inspired by the iconic women of films from the 1920s to the 1980s. For this collection, in particular, he looked to Shirley MacLaine’s style in the 1960 drama The Apartment.
The show was filled with impeccably tailored pieces. Cheng created innovative forms and silhouettes for his dresses and jackets, as well as featured his signature cotton boucle jackets, cotton crepe shirts, and hand-sewn petals accessories. The color palette consisted of pops of hot pink, purple, and green amidst the classic black that dominated the runway.
Cheng is dedicated to making his brand as sustainable as possible and makes sure to only use fabrics that are natural and carefully selected from heritage suppliers in the United Kingdom. CHOCHENG is cruelty free and always supports traditional craftsman methods.
