On Tuesday, May 20th, Chief Content Officer of Condé Nast, and Global Editorial Director of Vogue, Anna Wintour, fashion model and activist Bethann Hardison, artist Rashid Johnson, and civil rights ambassador Andrew Young were honored at this year’s Gordon Parks Foundation Gala.
The New York Urban League (NYUL), one of NYC’s oldest civil rights organizations and a leading affiliate of the National Urban League, hosted its 58th Annual Frederick Douglass Awards Dinner at the historic Ziegfeld Ballroom on Thursday, June 6th.
Bethann Hardison and Frédéric Tcheng co-directed the film Invisible Beauty, which will be released in theaters on September 15th.
On Wednesday, October 30th, I attended a screening of Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am at the gorgeous Roxy Cinema, hosted by Magnolia Pictures. It premiered this year at the Sundance Film Festival and was an Official Selection at the AFI Docs Festival and the San Francisco International Film Festival. The film is currently campaigning for “Best Documentary Feature” at the Oscars.
