Stepping onto the red carpet at the 2025 New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center, I had the opportunity to interview the cast and several members of the creative team behind this year’s Sentimental Value, a film by Joachim Trier.
It was at last year’s Hard Rock Café in New York, during Najah Moeser’s soulful performance, when I met Jessica “Kameko” Rooks (or “Meko” to many). What started with a friendly greeting transformed into an instant bond. Here was a single mother of two, an entrepreneur, an artist, and an athlete in spirit, whose warmth instantly stood out, transcending her Instagram-perfect appearances.
