Swizz Beatz, DJ Envy & More Honored At Annual Global Spin Awards

Last night (November 17) was one of the biggest nights for deejays nationwide as the best of the best were honored at the 4th Annual Global Spin Awards, which took place at the Playstation Theater in Times Square.

This year’s ceremony was hosted by Swizz Beatz who got a special surprise when he was honored with three plaques presented by old label mates the Lox, while his mother, father, uncle and wife Alicia Keys who were all in attendance celebrated with him, for achieving 300 million records sold throughout his nearly two decade career in the music industry.
Some of the night’s big honorees included DJ Envy who was awarded DJ of the Year, Mark Ronson who took home the Breaking Barriers Award and DJ Carisma won Female of the Year.


Hip Hop legend Afrikaa Bambaataa was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award which was presented to him by fellow hip hop legends Melle Mel, Kurtis Blow, Grandmaster Caz and Busy Bee.


Also in attendance were Rev. Jesse Jackson, 2Chainz, T-Pain, Timabaland.

The ceremony was followed by an official after-party at Stage 48 which featured performances by Fabolous, Mack Wilds, Ty Dolla $ign, and ASAP Ferg.

The awards will air Nov. 24 on Revolt at 8pm EST.
