Following its presentations at Taipei and Tokyo fashion week, Story Wear debuted “LOVE REVOLUTION: A Story of Taiwan,” at New York Fashion Week.

The acclaimed brand unveiled its new innovative collection on September 14, covering approximately 30 looks over 70 handcrafted garments. The showcase swapped out a traditional runway for a more immersive, multi-sensory viewing experience with Ideal Glass Studios. The collection was composed of five themed exhibitions: “Love Revolution: Story of Taiwan” (Story Wear’s core collection for Spring/Summer 2027), “Love from Mother Nature” (featuring Indigenous Taiwanese textiles), “The Butterfly Effect of Love” (a partnership with the Buddhist Tzu Chi Charity Foundation), “The Denim Forest” (a partnership with Cone Denim), and “Sleep for Love and Peace” (a collaboration with Sleepy Tofu).

The Story Wear brand was founded by Kuan Chen in 2018, and quickly became one of Taiwan’s leading eco-friendly brands, redefining fashion with sustainable artistry and a meaningful intent.

The “LOVE REVOLUTION” collection honed in on celebrating Taiwanese craftsmanship, from the inclusion of garments like Taiwan-made Jacquard denim and Indigenous Taiwanese textiles. With the use of traditional, recycled, and up-cycled materials, the collection combined renewability with social inclusion to create looks that were both environmentally and socially impactful.

Designer Chen’s vision for “LOVE REVOLUTION” highlighted local artisans, second-career women, disability advocacy groups, and community partners. The collection also honored the everyday workers and builders by reimagining military and workwear silhouettes into a number of the designs.

With resourceful artistry and a specialized focus on Taiwanese culture, Chen’s creative vision carried out a message that permeates beyond the runway.

“Fashion has the power to tell stories that transcend borders,” Chen told the press. “Through “LOVE REVOLUTION”, we wanted to share the Taiwan that inspires us every day —a Taiwan defined by creativity, resilience, kindness, and craftsmanship. Every garment represents the belief that small acts of love can create meaningful change, and that the future of fashion begins now, with how we value the people, environment, and communities around us.”

When we asked Anne Hathaway to describe the film in three words, she answered without hesitation: “Twisty. Right. Wrong.”

After speaking with the cast and with author Colleen Hoover herself, we learned that those three words are as much about the audience as they are about the movie.
