The Knockturnal was on the scene at the ASICS Jump Room event in New York, celebrating the launch of the “I Move Me” campaign and partnership with Grammy-nominated DJ and producer, Steve Aoki.
The ASICS “I Move Me” campaign’s goal is to motivate the new generation of consumers to be healthy and happy through movement. Steve Aoki who is also the face of the new campaign was in attendance and was excited for people to learn more about “I Move Me” and his love for ASICS. Aoki decided to work with the iconic Japanese brand since they are familiar with his culture and share similar philosophies, which made it easy to establish this partnership.
The vibe of the entire room was themed following ASICS’ new generation motto with dynamic LED lights, making it a cool and lively space to be in with different things happening all around. The ASICS Jump Room featured two massive trampolines that guests were able to use while trying on the ASICS GEL-Kenun sneakers. Steve Aoki was giving the trampolines the ultimate test by jumping pretty high off of it and taking photos on a 180-degree camera.
This was a fun and interactive way to test out the shoes and also get a picture of yourself doing your own version of the “Aoki Jump” photo. I didn’t know what to expect before trying on the shoe since I haven’t had many pairs of ASICS, but the comfort of the sole is what impressed me the most about the shoe. ASICS and “I Move Me” will feature offline activations for their new generation consumers, including special events at the upcoming opening of ASICS’ 5th Avenue Flagship store in New York City.
