A chic happy hour to celebrate some of the best wine around
On Tuesday, April 19th, Sonoma Cutrer hosted an intimate event celebrating the award-winning wines. The event was hosted as The Hawksmoor in New York City where guests could sample some of the delicious wines Sonoma Cutrer offers such as their Chardonnay, Rose, and Pinot Noir. It is worth mentioning that Sonoma-Cutrer wines are one of a kind. Since 1981, they have been growing their grapes in Sonoma County, California. And today, their female-led winemaking team produces sustainable wines that are not only delicious, but a wine that doesn’t break the bank to enjoy clean flavors.
The Sonoma-Cutrer The Cutrer Vineyard Chardonnay 2019 being served was one of our favorite chardonnays to try. Typical chardonnay is usually extremely dry and has somewhat of a tart taste. However, with each sip of the chardonnay, you get wonderful notes of caramel and brown sugar paired with notes of peach, oak, and nuts. What we loved about this chardonnay the most is that it isn’t as dry as the other chardonnays in the market and leaves a nice, crisp finish.
The Sonoma-Cutrer Rosé of Pinot Noir 2021 has a beautiful pink hue that is perfect for any rose lover out there. There are wonderful notes of strawberry, raspberry, rose, and tartness from grapefruit and should be on everyone’s summer rose list.
And one of our favorites of the night was the Sonoma-Cutrer Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2019. This wine is aged in a mix of one-year and two-year old French oak barrels and the result is s medium bodied red wine with a deep ruby color that has remarkable notes of blackberry and vanilla. This was such a well balanced wine that had a long finish that kept drawing us back in for more.
