Sia’s gone on Twitter to announce an upcoming collaboration track with Kanye West.
This collaboration, while exciting, shouldn’t come off as that much of a surprise considering Sia joined Kanye and Vic Mensa for the performance of “Wolves” on SNL. I can’t say whether or not Sia would be on the official cut of the record as it’s never been released, which means this new track “Reaper” would be their first legitimate collaboration.

This track, since it has Kanye writing and producing, might also hold an insight into the flavor of Ye’s speculated upcoming LP SWISH. While lyrically, Ye’s been a little off in the eyes of a good number of his fans, his production hasn’t really lost its luster. When producing for other artists as of late, Kanye has maintained a strong level of experimentation balanced with adapting to the their sound.
Sia’s a talented writer and vocalist, so being directed by Kanye will probably lead in a positive direction. Specifically, when it comes to vocalists, Kanye seems to make use of them almost as if they were an extraneous instrument on the production; leading to a well melded sound scape. If “Reaper” ends up being a solid cut, I would hope to see Kanye bring her in for SWISH.
