It’s a very powerful thing to write words that have meaning and for the meaning to affect many different people from different walks of life.
On Thursday, March 30, 2023 I had the pleasure of speaking to New York Times Best Selling author Kwame Alexander about his award winning novel “The CrossOver”. The novel gives a fresh narrative to young black men. It shows a beautiful perspective of emotional intelligence while also expressing the love of basketball and using the sport metaphorically with everyday life decisions. The novel became such a hit that he later turned it into a full book series.
Almost 7 years ago, the hit novel “The CrossOver” came out. With hard work and dedication Kwame Alexander was able to successfully turn his hit novel into a full drama series that you can now watch on Disney+ starting April 4, 2023 as a televised drama series. When asked if Kwame Alexander ever thought about turning his novel into a series he said “no he had no idea that it would turn into a series, but he is so happy that it has.” I believe that this show has heart and shows a colorful family dynamic that I believe we need to see more of. It’s such an easy watch and perfect to watch with your family.
