What a debut!
New York-based couture designer and artist Katya Leonovich premiered her first-ever menswear Spring / Summer 2020 collection on Day II of New York Fashion Week.
“FIX & FAX”, the new collection derives inspiration from the merging of her personal artwork (described as “the antidote of the casualty of existence”) with nature. A blend of lively colors, unconventional craftsmanship and ingenuity made this line one to remember, as all the dreaded-hair models beamed with confidence down the runway.
In addition, Fix and Fax are the names of Leonovich‘s pet rats and served as the basis for her series of exaggerated story paintings and prints on the clothing. Although Leonovich is a newcomer to menswear, the Russian designer is no stranger to the catwalk. In previous years, she has showcased womenswear collections at Moscow, Paris and New York.
Among the guests in attendance included Miss Jay Alexander. “These designs will help express one’s true masculinity”, said showgoer John Stiles. Stay tuned for the details on where you can purchase the new collection.
