PHILADELPHIA- On Saturday, June 4th at Morgan’s Pier in Northern Philadelphia Tanqueray Gin hosted a Tanqueray No. TEN Takeover Gin & Juice Themed Brunch featuring two fresh summer cocktails using fresh pressed fruit, as well as a plethora of brunch dishes cooked by chefs at the Pier.
Guests were invited to try both of Tanqueray’s original cocktails:
The Green Machine, a vibrant and healthy mixture of pressed green vegetables and a shot of Tanqueray Gin, garnished with a cucumber, fresh time juice and mint leaves. The cocktail was the perfect addition to a weekend brunch, with just enough Gin to feel a morning kick-start whilst supplying you with an array of nutritious greens, vitamins and antioxidants.
The Watermelon Cooler, a pale fuchsia colored drink, featured fresh watermelon, lemon and lime juice and Tanqueray Gin, topped with a fresh lime wedge and a basil leaf. The Cooler, which was on the sweeter side in comparison to the super-food Green Machine cocktail, satisfied the same craving many have for a mimosa or Bellini on a Saturday or Sunday morning. The watermelon being the main component of this cocktail, made for a well-rounded fruity option alongside a brunch dish.
Tanqueray’s brunch menu in collaboration with Morgan’s Pier featured a ridiculous selection of anything from classic breakfast dishes to divine lunch options. Anyone feeling on more like breakfast could indulge in rich dishes, such as a classic eggs benedict with Canadian bacon and hollandaise sauce or a Belgian waffle with heirloom apple compote an whipped cream. Feeling like something a little heavier to satisfy the afternoon munchies? The menu offered a wide assortment of sandwiches and appetizer size “snacks”, like the Maine lobster roll, stuffed with fresh meaty pieces of lobster and topped with tarragon aioli or the caprese toast covered with buffalo mozzarella, heirloom tomato and age balsamic. However, the winning dish of the Gin & Juice Themed Brunch seemed to be the mint infused watermelon salad, which was mixed with creamy and rich feta cheese and thinly shaved red onion. The salad went perfect with the Green Machine cocktail.
Morgan’s Pier was the ideal venue for this kick-start to the summer Tanqueray brunch. The location is prime, sitting directly on the Delaware River and surrounded by boats bobbing around on the rippling water. Local DJs played an assortment of disco and ambient house music to set the relaxed afternoon vibe. Sublime weather, a lush and jam-packed brunch menu, as well as fresh pressed cocktails featuring one of the most respected gins on the market made for a perfect Saturday brunch.
