After a significant multi-year renovation, ROW NYC has reopened their hotel doors and is now welcoming guests to its 1,300-room property in the heart of Times Square. The transformation has made the landmarked building clean, modern and inviting—making it an ideal spot for tourists, families, Broadway spectators and out-of-towners of all ages to rest.
Prior to its remodel, the building was the first and largest hotel in New York City to convert into a hotel that housed migrants in 2022. Now, the ROW NYC has been adequately redesigned for travelers and is among the most optimal hotel rooms available in the city. The Knockturnal recently made a visit and stayed in a Deluxe King room that was 240 sq. ft. for two-nights and had no complaints. The intimate room provided everything we needed, and most importantly deep sleep. There was newly installed plush carpet, a comfortable king size bed, pristine white sheets and Mid-Century style wood furniture that offered both form and function. We took advantage of the mini desk to place our laptop for work, utilized the multiple power outlets to charge our devices and the Wi-Fi was blazing fast to stream some of our favorite shows on our tablet. The room also had plenty of storage with small cabinets and a petite closet to hang our clothes.

The room was elegantly painted a soft green, which created a serene atmosphere, and had medium sized windows allowing us to see the city skyline. And best of all, we couldn’t hear the bustling streets of Times Square due to the room’s thick windows. As for the bathroom, it was functional with a new toilet, sink, and mirrors. Other room amenities included cable TV, a safe to secure your belongings, an ice bucket and a hot water kettle.
Located at 700 8th Avenue between West 44th and West 45th Streets, ROW NYC is highly desirable due to its proximity to all the Broadway theaters. The hotel is literally just a short walk to the auditoriums and you don’t have to deal with hailing a cab or riding the subway to attend. Speaking of subways, ROW NYC is located near all major subway lines, so you can easily get around the city to visit all the major attractions.
ROW NYC also features an all-day café called Percy All Day, named after photographer Percy Claude Byron, who captured images of everyday life in the city. The café serves caffeinated beverages in the morning and cocktails in the evenings along with an assortment of delicious pastries and shareable small bites throughout the day. We highly recommend picking up the cinnamon roll. We could eat this everyday if we could!

Next to the café, the hotel has a curated lobby retail store called “Nyce Things,” which sells New York City keepsakes and essentials, including tote bags, baseball caps, water bottles and T-shirts. Instead of buying souvenirs around the city and lugging them with you, now you can easily purchase gifts from “Nyce Things” and easily take them up straight to your room. Prices on items are reasonable and you won’t be ripped off.
Overall, ROW NYC is a high-value hotel that balances comfort, convenience and value. Best of all, you’ll have an incredible guest experience. If your trip is centered around theatergoing or just need a relaxing hotel with new furnishings and amenities, ROW NYC is the best place to be.
